And he fiancee is running a fever. I'm assuming it was detected on a pre-flight Covid test.
Both are double vaccinated so my worry meter won't exceed the red line, but it might come close.

(29,219 posts)and what was the date of the last vaccine shot?
Hope they are alright... but the vaccine should have always been a 3 shot (or 4 shot) affair.
And, as I have said in other posts, the vaccine doesn't prevent infection, the vaccine prevents serious illness. IF we were all vaccinated, vaccine would cause the virus to die out (die is a hard term here... not replicate would be more accurate).
but we didn't all get vaccinated.
Hope they are OK.

(26,289 posts)They are both pretty cautious so I'm hoping so.
I'm triple vaxxed and still mask up and keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in my car. It gets used before I take off my mask. But despite all that, I fully realize I could have a minor slip up and get infected.
Certainly not how I envisioned spending my retirement.

(26,289 posts)I keep repeating myself by stating I'm so weary of this whole situation, but there's not a damn thing I can do about it but act responsibly and hope those around me do the same. So far, so good.

(26,289 posts)For him it's like a moderate cold and he thinks he's getting past it. BUT of course I told him not to get ahead of things, and to continue following any directions he got from the doctor.
I also told him we are forecast to get slammed with 4 to 6" of snow, Saturday night, so their visit might have been extended, since their return flight was on Sunday.

(58,785 posts)the delay given the travel disruptions this week. Our daughter just messaged from out west that they're "racing carefully" down out of the mountains to the airport, but they don't know yet for sure that "their flight will make them." Cautiously optimistic. I wish we'd get just about that much snow, to make everything beautiful for a while, and then melt away.
