I needed 3 prescriptions filled, down to a couple each. They were ready today, so I went in. I've been inside the Kroger store once since March 2020, and that was before Christmas this year to get some gift cards. I have been using the walk-up to get my meds.
It was closed, with a hand-lettered sign, come inside. I went in. I had to wait and when I got to the counter, asked about the walk-up. The clerk said it was closed because of staff shortages, because of Covid infections. I wasn't mean or anything. I told the clerk this is the 2nd time I've been in the store since March 2020, and she said she's been out and we just have to be careful. I won't need meds for 3 months, and maybe by then, God will have taken his flock to Heaven, where they can romp in meadows as great herds of unmasked sheep.
I got my meds, dropped off 2 things outside the businesses, came home did did my sanitizing routine, including a healthy dose of vodka. I am not thinking good thoughts about anti-masker, anti-vaxxer idiots who I will now think of as Covid Quislings.

I am really grateful to all of the people who go out to work. They have made it easy for me to stay safe. At Kroger (Ohio) the employees wear masks, but not many of the idiot customers.
I heard on the news today that South Africa thinks it is on the other side of the Omicron outbreak. Maybe it'll be better here after January.
Happy New Year to you

(2,177 posts)She went in today to dicuss this and found out their new pharmacist walked out and was not coming back. This seems to be a big problem with pharmacies everywhere. Pharmacists and techs are quitting.

(14,061 posts)The faster they suffle off this mortal coil, the better. Its not all about THEM and their g-d stupidity.
Just got back from Kroger, and it was more packed today than it was before Thanksgiving. Id say the masked-to-unmasked ratio was 50/50, but does that matter, as packed as the aisles and checkout lanes were?

(16,963 posts)I have been using their curbside pickup, also Instacart at Aldi, and shopping online instead of going in. Lots of reasons to stay out of local store. The people around here seem willfully stupid, and since 79% of the county voted for traitor, I have no interest in shopping locally.
I don't want to see people dying, but not wishing them well, either.
