Gov hypocrite Abbott strikes again... and since President Biden isn't a vindictive sociopath...

I suspect help is on the way.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Gov. Greg Abbott is requesting federal help to slow down the latest COVID-19 surge in Texas.

The governor said Friday that the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Texas Department of State Health Services requested resources for federally-supported testing sites, medical personnel and additional federal allocations of the monoclonal antibody sotrovimab.

to discuss why Texas can't handle this and to give assurances that any Fed help will not be squandered.

We don't want those receiving assistance to use Fed money for hunting and fishing vacations.

Abbot must appear with Biden on multiple TV network news shows and request assistance in full view of the TV audience, AFTER he explains why he refuses to follow medically sound recommendations to require masking and vaccination.

“Do it yourself, since you want to secede.”

That’s what I would say.

8. Of course, we'll help the people in Governor Abbott's state. After all, we're not Republicans.

One has to ask, though: what happened to all that "Don't Mess With Texas" bravado?

...but give it as aid-in-kind instead of in cash. As far as the requested medical personnel...the military's medical school (not the one that trains surgeons, but the one that trains field medics) is in San Antonio and they would LOVE to have a real-world problem to send their students to.

.... was populated by repugs only, then the "fuck you, you're on your own" sentiment would be appropriate, but since there are millions of Democrats who also live in Texas, and many of them working their asses off to turn the state blue it would not be fair to them. Innocents should never be sacrificed for revenge. I would however, let the entire country know, loudly and often where that help came from. I do agree with a few here who think it would be appropriate for Abbott to do a lot of begging and groveling.

I'm not going to chop off my left arm just because my right arm is full of gangrene as in the Gangrene Old Party. Logic.

I believe Texas is currently suing the Administration over vaccine mandates. I hope Democrats make a big public stink over this.

"Stop The Spread!" would be an appropriate slogan.
