Gov. DeSantis Trolled With Airplane Banner Over South Beach: ‘Florida is On Fire and Ron is Missing’

The whereabouts of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have officially become a “thing,” now that cases of Covid-19 in the Sunshine State have reached an all-time high due to the omicron variant.

According to the New York Times, daily average cases on Thursday reached 36,781, which is 50% higher than the previous record in August of this year. Governor DeSantis has not only not publicly addressed the massive spike in infections, but he has also not made any public appearance in the last two weeks. As a result #WhereIsRon has begun to trend among more progressive regions of the Twittersphere.

And as if that’s not enough, someone with the disposable cash available to hire an airplane and custom banner, did just that, with the banner blaring “Florida is on fire and Ron is missing.” Grant Stern shared a video on Twitter which you can see below:

DeSantis’s last press briefing was December 17th, and holiday images shared on his Twitter page are photos taken earlier in the month, fueling speculation that the Florida governor might be on vacation while Covid cases rage in his home state.
