There was so much damage done that it will be difficult to recover from it all.
It damaged the institution of Congress and created a much deeper distrust of the Parties against each other.
It damaged the people's trust in our Justice system as it created doubt in whether or not our democracy would survive?
It divided the nation into criminals vs patriots, each believing the other was the "criminal".
It damaged the psyche of America.
It will take more than an election to repair the damage done.
Happy New Year!
Good night and good luck!

The election of Joe Biden did not automatically prove that we survived the attack upon our democracy.

On the bright side, I did read somewhere that saw optimism in the great novels of the 1920s because there was no mention of the 1918-19 pandemic. What seemed insurmountable at the time was done and forgotten. Of course in the 20s you had patriotism clamping down on the Red Scare, and Wall Street booming. Maybe we just need some justice and some distractions.
