Ron DeSantis accompanied wife to cancer treatment while critics claimed he was 'missing'

what's wrong with this picture? he's been missing at least two weeks. and sorry about using Fox as a source, but it's all I could find:

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis accompanied his wife to her cancer treatment while critics were accusing the governor of taking a vacation as coronavirus cases spiked, Fox News has learned.

A DeSantis spokesperson said the governor accompanied wife Casey to cancer treatment Dec. 29, the day several left-wing critics accused the governor of "missing."

DeSantis' announced in October that his wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer, telling Fox News at the time that as "the mother of three young children, Casey is the centerpiece of our family and has made an impact on the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as first lady."

Democratic Mayor Jerry Demings of Orange County in Florida criticized DeSantis in a press conference Tuesday amid the rising COVID cases, suggesting state residents "should be outraged" with DeSantis not being in front of the media during the spike.

He quite appropriately stays with his wife during her treatments, but deliberately conceals this from the public until such time as he can use it. He disappears for two weeks, so naturally there's speculation about where he is and what he's doing, along with complaints that he's not doing his job as the pandemic worsens in FL. Finally he surfaces, announces that he was with his sick wife, and acts all outraged that "the left" was complaining about his absence. It was a setup, I think.

I took a grand total of 3 days off from work when **I** had breast cancer.

I had **my** third surgery for a second cancer on 12/29 last year, and was teaching on 1/3. (I worked the day of and the day after the 1st surgery for that cancer on 11/30, and took a couple of days off following the second on 12/15 - and then immediately started editing papers using talk-to-text since the surgery prevented me from using my right had even for typing for 35 days)

He has already announced his wife has cancer so it's no secret. He can make a quick announcement that he needs to take the day off to accompany her to treatment, place someone else in charge, or take an hour out to address the crisis in his state.

Also, I just don't buy that he is a caring enough person to sacrifice his political life for his wife during her time of need. He just isn't. Everything he does is for him and his image. Something else is going on.

My dad is with her all the time, but he does not go with her to the actual chemo treatments in the hospital as he would be un-needed and nothing but a nuisance. He stays at my brother's house and is there for her to pick her up when her treatment is over. They are about once per month for about a week at at time.

I don't know if that is how all cancers are treated, but I would expect that it goes pretty much the same. I doubt very much there is any reason for him to be with her for two weeks straight with no appearance. Even if he did care about her.
