One set of documents Kerik provided reportedly includes emails between Kerik and others in which they discussed paying for rooms at the Willard Hotel so Trump allies could meet to brainstorm ways to block Joe Biden’s electoral win from being certified. Another, titled, “STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS PLAN—GIULIANI PRESIDENTIAL LEGAL DEFENSE TEAM,” reportedly lays out a strategy to convince congressional Republicans not to formalize Biden’s victory. In addition to the documents requested by the committee, Kerik also reportedly provided a so-called privilege log that listed the materials he refuses to share. He has more, but he claims that they're being hidden because of Trump's claim of executive privilege. He says he's waiting for Trump to give him permission to release them. Yeah, right.

11. I think the 1/6 Committee wants to expose what Trump

and his cronies did to try to thwart the election process, but really all they can do is lay out the evidence and let the press and the DOJ do their jobs. The committee has a lot of information from various people who have come to them voluntarily.

The DOJ has a small window in which they can get Trump and the others indicted and prosecute them. They need to start to work on that Monday. If they wait too late, it'll be called a political witch hunt. They'll probably call it that anyway, but if they get it done in the first couple months of the year, it will look a lot less like political maneuvering.

But I'm skeptical about it all, too. Right now I don't have a lot of faith in the Justice Department. I hope they prove me wrong, but history tells me that these fuckers will wiggle out of it somehow. They always have.

The good news is that the walls are cracking, chip by chip. Someone will finally get smart and figure out that Chump can't save anybody, not even himself.

It’s like Kerik is honoring Trump as some sort of President in Exile. I think that’s how Trump himself wants to be seen. Kerik is supposedly honoring Trump’s executive privilege, which no longer exists. It’s maddening! I hope the courts tell Kerik to give up all he has immediately. But that will likely drag out for weeks. They’re doing their best to run out the clock, and so far it’s working.
