Heartbreaking: Beloved grandmother dies after card game with person who hid they had Covid

https://www.wxyz.com/news/family-who-lost-grandma-to-covid-19-asks-people-feeling-sick-to-stay-home-away-from-gatherings

Lauren says her grandmother decided to attend a card game with friends. She asked if everyone was vaccinated. Everyone said yes. But her loved ones say then one player took a gamble at that card game that no one else saw coming.

"Somebody decided that testing positive for COVID is something they can hide," Lauren said. "The only way we found out is that the person owned up after Nana got sick."

Lauren says she doesn’t want to reveal her grandmother’s friend’s identity out of respect for their privacy. But she wants you to know what happened as you make decisions.

Though her grandma was vaccinated, as a blood cancer survivor, her immune system was weak. She caught COVID-19, was hospitalized, ventilated, and died on Dec. 21, right before Christmas.

I see that too many people are the same. Most people appear to balance self-interest with consideration for others--at least they used to. Our society, as it once once, encouraged this. The balance allowed enough self-interest for people to have dreams and to set goals in their pursuit of happiness. To the deplorables, what they want and need is all that matters--big or small.

Mark Meadows wrote in his book that Fat Bastard tested positive on Sept. 26. The debate was on the 29th. They arrived at the very last second to the debate, in order avoid the required pre-debate COVID test. He lied and claimed he tested earlier in the day and was negative. The idiots running the debate took his word for it. Damn right he did it on purpose. It's the same reason his shitty-ass family all pranced around around the debate hall maskless, too Yeah, he was probably showing symptoms on debate night. Two days later, he was in Walter Reed.

What's really disgusting is that he hosted multiple super-spreader events between his first positive test and the debate. He didn't care who he got infected, including his own putrid family--some of whom he did make ill, including his wife and youngest son.

First off, they should have banned Trump from the debate because he did not show a negative test result. They took his word 😱 that he was not COVID positive.

And his unmasked entourage should have been ejected.

Then, Biden should have been given the entire allotted time for the broadcast.

But there are never any real consequences for R misbehavior, so they just keep doing whatever the fck they want.

To lie about something like that over a freaking card game is unconscionable, to say the least.

That poor woman's "friend" was no friend at all. I hope she feels the enormous guilt she should feel.

Recently, my wife decided to join a local book club that has weekly meetings. I suggested she find out the masking policies of the group. She did. Masks were optional. She wisely opted out of going to the meetings.

but no one died that I know of.

In one case, a group I sing with was holding outside rehearsals, 6 feet apart, and asked if everyone was vaccinated. Everyone agreed over email to the "rules". One member (someone in their late 70s who usually isolated) ended up in the hospital. He is ok now, but several have quit the group. We found out later that another member was not vaccinated and had a "mild case" of COVID. She stood beside the guy who ended up sick. She admitted to everyone that she would not get a shot because of a "China flu" and it was "her choice".

In another case a social group was meeting at some outside tables on a balcony for a New Year's Eve get-together before fireworks. Everyone was on a text list to only come if you were vaccinated and boosted! Everyone had a mask. Tables were set with chairs far apart. After we got there, one couple stated they didn't need vaccines because they had caught COVID already. I knew there was trouble when one of them said it didn't matter because DeSatan had a large supply of Regeneron, but the drug companies were holding out on hydroxycloriquine. The party basically broke up immediately with a lot of angry people.

This is Florida, and the Governor is crazy, so it feeds the mass insanity. I believe there are lots of people who lie about vaccine status, and rationalize their lies.

The man in the first example is fortunate to be alive. In the second one the couple's stupidity and selfishness ruined everyone's evening. And I bet the people that had followed the rules had been looking forward to the gathering. I guess if I'm tempted to go to a similar gathering I'll have to assume someone's lying and act accordingly.

It turned out that one of the 3 was not yet symptomatic, having been infected unaware by someone in her own circle who lied about their vaccine status, and that was how my acquaintance got it. She got quite sick and was briefly hospitalized but responded to monoclonal antibody treatnent and is fine now. It was an eye-opener, though, and something to think about.

From the CDC,:

As of 2021, 35 states have laws that criminalize HIV exposure.
General criminal statutes, such as reckless endangerment and attempted murder, can be used to criminalize behaviors that can potentially expose another to HIV and or an STD. Many states have laws that fall into more than one of the categories listed above. For this analysis, only HIV-specific laws are captured for states with both HIV-specific laws and STD/communicable/infectious disease laws. Only HIV or STD/communicable/infectious disease laws are captured for states with both HIV or STD/communicable/infectious disease laws and sentence enhancement statutes.

Sun Jan 2, 2022, 02:23 PM
Jan 2022

This makes zero sense. What would it matter if they were vaccinated? Vaccinated people carry the infection too. And a positive or negative test is meaningless as people can get tested and still be infected.

Does it add up that someone would lie about being positive than magically own up at a later time? So they were willing to lie but then when the lady died they then would say, yes, I tested positive? And risk a lawsuit or losing every friend rather than simply keeping that lie going? There would be zero way for anyone to tell who was lying or not. No one could tell a cold sniffle from Covid.

Come on now, this story does not pass the sniff test at all. Seems more likely someone just likes attention. Grandma got Covid and passed, it sucks, but likely not due to this story.

50. Vaccinated folks are less likely to get infected
Sun Jan 2, 2022, 03:30 PM
Jan 2022

It's difficult to estimate but there is a great deal of immunity to even infection with vaccines. And this vaccine is tracking along the same lines. So you could be as much as 88 percent protected from infections.

The tests are about 80 percent accurate. They are more likely to be wrong when you first are infected or for over 14 days after.

A person frequently does not have a choice if they reveal their illness or not because of the obvious symptoms. The friend may have been forced to tell the truth when she started coughing, or running a fever. There are ways to tell if others have COVID or at least to tell if they are sick.

There is a recent video of an obviously sick woman recording herself and posting it. She says she has Covid and her husband is dying from it while attending a rally without a mask....

So these anti-vaxxers are known to purposely spread it around.

There are over 10,000 vendors for fake vaccine cards.

There are anti-vaxxers showing up infected at anti-vaxxer protests. They have probably been showing up at other functions regularly anyway. These are people who are pretending there is no pandemic. So, no sweat for them to lie and get you, or a cherished relative with compromised immune systems, infected too.

I suspect a lot of the breakthrough cases are fake vaccinated or caused by them.

And all those cruise ships are attracting those fake vaxxers. What's an anti-vaxxer to do if they want to do something like a cruise but aren't allowed? They have no choice but to lie.
