The message on her phone was written in a large font and caught the attention of Hamilton, the assistant equipment manager for the Canucks. The message expressed Nadia Popovici's concern that she believed a mole on the back of Hamiltons neck was cancerous and that he needed to get it checked.
It turned out she was right.
I felt bad at the moment because Im walking off the bench and she put her phone up to the glass and on the phone it said the mole on the back of your neck is cancer. And it threw me off, Hamilton recalled on Saturday before the Canucks played their second game of the season in Seattle.

(32,639 posts)Either Rachel's make-up stylist or her workout trainer told her that a mole on her cheek had suddenly changed. It was larger and darker, a sign of possible skin cancer. The person mentioned it and Rachel had it checked out by the doctor. Sure enough it was potentially malignant and Rachel had it removed. This just happened a couple months ago.

(16,379 posts)Thankfully, it was nothing. When I told the dermatologist that my stylist made me come in, the doctor said she was so grateful for beauticians, barbers, and masseuses who send people in for a look. She catches a lot of skin cancer that way. Plus, since I had to make an appointment anyway, I had the dermatologist do a comprehensive skin screening while I was there. Doc told me I should have a skin check every two years. I'm not fair-complected (complexioned?) but I did have some bad sunburns as a child, so I was a little worried.
