NASCAR has rejected a sponsorship deal between driver Brandon Brown and the meme cryptocurrency LGBcoin. LGB references "Let's Go Brandon." A NASCAR official confirmed it: "No form of this derogatory and vulgar euphemism will be allowed ..." So, even NASCAR has limits. Who knew?

Although NASCAR did the right thing, it's mortifying that there's a company who uses that euphemism in its name, and especially mortifying that a driver would have moved forward with it, had NASCAR not rejected it.

I was THINKING about going to Sonoma for this year’s race. I want to see a race with the new car, and Sonoma is an extremely nice speedway. But I was also planning to go to at least one Mets game and one Yankees game. (I got the strangest call last year…I have been assigned a Personal Assistant by the Mets, and I’ve only ever been to one Mets game in my life. I checked the number he used, and it belongs to the Mets so either there’s a really good scammer out there or I really got called by the Mets, and since he wasn’t asking for any money and sounded pretty authentic I suspect it really was the Mets on the line.) It’s doable, but a little hectic.

Well…between NASCAR banning Confederate flags, NASCAR banning LGB on the side of Brandon Brown’s car and Sonoma being so close to San Francisco I feel that race should be almost completely Trumpist-free, so I’ll fly into Kennedy on Tuesday, get my baseball fix, fly to SFO on Friday, do Alcatraz and Amoeba Records on Saturday, and head to the track on Sunday. It’ll be great.

What would really ruin the Trumpists’ lives is if President Biden invited Brandon Brown to the White House. He seems like a decent enough kid.
