CNN panel stunned by forcefulness of Biden’s Jan. 6 speech: ‘He just called the former president twisted!’

On CNN Thursday, anchor Wolf Blitzer and a panel of analysts reacted to President Joe Biden's fiery speech laying the January 6 Capitol attack directly at the feet of former President Donald Trump.

"It does show where we have come a year from January 6th, where some people maybe thought we would be in a different position in the United States," said correspondent Kaitlan Collins. "But clearly, the president of the United States feeling the need to go on the anniversary of this and say his predecessor is a liar is notable."

"Yeah, I've never heard an American president accuse a former president of being a liar along these lines, a threat to American democracy," said Blitzer. "He didn't mention Trump by name. He didn't have to mention Trump by name. He referred to the former president over and over again."

They are just shocked, I tell you just shocked....that he is calling the predecessor a liar is notable.....maybe you should be doing the same thing........

Just maybe they should start using the word traitor along with the enablers......

TFG and his zazy insurrectionist treasonous supporters (ZITS) are causing the economy to have jitters.

The US becoming a total autocracy would not be good for business. The current quasi-democratic model, with all its flaws, serves it well.

So far in his first term, you could say that Wall Street has boomed under President Joe.

And the BBB package would give them even MORE Government $$$ to play with. It could be an investor's wet dream. Both the 1% and the 99% would reap very attractive benefits - long term no less.

Getting rid of the chaos in the political world would be a very good thing for Wall Street. And for 81 million reasons I believe the %1 may be coming around to the idea of a detente in the Class War, a pause.

And they own the M$M. Wolfe Blitzer is one of the primary mouthpieces of the 1%. He is a direct line to their thinking.

Be interesting to watch things develop on this front in the coming months.

Of the 2 quotes, Kaitlan Collins merely said it was "notable". It is notable; Biden has been much more circumspect in his rhetoric to this point.

Perhaps worse, as the shock could be, as you say, from Biden's change in tone.
Stunned connotes something different to me, now that you bring it up. Either way, bluntness with facts in evidence than mere name calling. They didn't seem too stunned when TFG was doing it on a daily basis.
Ratings are down for all primetime broadcasts, per a report posted here, earlier today.
Some retrospection of the business model seems in order.
If that means to you, that nothing they do will make me happy, so be it.
But, I think it's clear that the latitude they provided a serial liar & verbal abuser and what they're doing now are quite different. But, it's still part of the same model. Just that now, they're providing the outrage, instead of reporting & commenting on the events.

Ratings for Politics shows are down because it's not a 3-ring circus any more. Liberals are not agog. It's regular good-faith governance, which is boring.

They are afraid of losing viewers. In 2022, the important truth is that there are two parties- one defending democracy and one seeking to end it. The media is desperately seeking a reasonable midpoint between the two sides and there is none. You either support democracy or you don't. Failing to take that stand is complicity.

On the best way to confront tRump with the truth. How best to bring the truth to the front and say it out loud to those who continue to support him. I believe that we were just as close to losing our democracy as has been said over and over. No exaggerations or hyperbole. Today was a golden opportunity to open the wound and drain the poison. Lance the boil and renew our dedication to saving our democracy. A boil left untended, untreated can infect the whole body and kill it. Today can be a start toward healing. But the words needed to be just right. We must deal with the very thing that is killing us. Joe Biden laid it all out and called out the real villain. The real traitor. May his strong words be the medicine we need to begin healing and rebuilding our strengths as the United States of America.

and we're talking fully documented, demonstrable, obvious lies here.

they act like "liar" is completely taboo, a word that shall not be spoken.

Thu Jan 6, 2022, 05:01 PM
Jan 2022

Are we breeching some unspoken social etiquette by calling a spade a spade?

Both Hillary and Joe have a unique ability to push peoples' thinking in the right direction.

Hillary called some people 'Deplorables', and she was right. Events since she used that word proved her right.

Joe is doing the same. Describing things as they are, were at this time last year.

Does the 'shock-horror' come from 'you weren't supposed to notice!' ?? Cover blown, the thin wallpapering torn to shreds? The MSM messaging that there is nothing here to see, so move along, shown for what it is?

Hopefully, more will get to see past events more clearly. And those who can, act appropriately.

Let's get things back into balance, allow normal people to breathe more freely, and deal with more pressing matters in their lives - like surviving COVID.
