...but voting in New York in 2020 makes his case for three year Oregon residency pretty weak. I know he sees his legacy home to be Yamhill, Oregon. He owns property there. His decision, however, to choose another state as his political home so recently seems to fit outside the four corners of elegibility.

If Tucker Carlson claimed to be an Oregon resident for three years to run for Governor, I would want the same test applied.

You must be an Oregon resident for three years. Kristof voted in New York in 2020. He owns a 100-acre orchard in Oregon so that’s not the problem, but he really should have planned ahead on this.
