Ron DeSantis asked if people ever sought testing to see if they were sick before the coronavirus

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday raised eyebrows when at a press conference he asked whether people got screened for illness prior to the COVID-19 pandemic during a speech where he railed against testing for the coronavirus.

"Now think about it," DeSantis said Friday. "Before COVID did anyone go out and seek testing to determine if they were sick? It's usually you feel like you're sick and you get tested to determine what you maybe have come down with."

A clip of DeSantis' remarks shared to Twitter elicited numerous responses that pointed out preventive screenings for numerous diseases, including sexually transmitted infections and forms of cancer, are common even in people who do not have any symptoms of the disease.

Others also pointed toward a December 2021 tweet from DeSantis' wife, Casey DeSantis, where she advocated for preventative cancer testing and talked about her own breast cancer diagnosis.

He seems to be taking the Trump attitude "stop the testing and everything will come back to normal."

I wish her and your entire family the best, truly. But tell me: How did your wife find out she had cancer?

And no, I didn't get tested b/c I didn't know what was wrong with me.

5. I've had dozens of throat swaps done in my life, testing for

strep. Somebody should ask him if his wife had any tests looking for cancer.

6. I was tested for TB every six months by the Maricopa Co. Health Dept.

from the time I was 5 until I turned 18. I was never given a choice in the matter, by order of State law.

7. It's called screening. The man is pure evil.

I, and countless others, get screened with tests for all kinds of things I don't have symptoms for. Some just once a year. Some more often. One test I keep getting is the PSA test for prostate cancer. I don't have symptoms, but they still run the tests. And with my medical history, every time I go to a doc they give me an EKG even though I have no symptoms.

I'm guessing wifey may have found out she had cancer from a regular test.

Not getting tested many times means death. Apparently the governor of Florida doesn't care if his fellow citizens die needlessly.
