NYC Mayor has a new reason for hiring his brother...

I recall Adams saying during the campaign that he wouldn't NEED a security detail because he still carried a gun.

Brooklyn BP: I Would Carry a Gun if Elected Mayor

NEW YORK - Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams says if elected to be mayor, he would carry a gun and drop his security detail.

The comments came during an interview with the FAQ NYC podcast Thursday.

Damn near 2 million USD IF Adams serves two terms and his brother serves in the same position for both terms.

That isn't to say I agree with Adams giving this position to his brother. Not at all. But that pay actually seems a little low for that position in a city like New York.

What's really madness is how criminally low the pay is for working class jobs. The wage disparity between the C level executives and those who work for them is madness.

when he expressed views such as children should only sleep 6-7 hours a night and one teacher could teach 4-700 children remotely. But now with the hire of Banks and his brother I am getting a sinking feeling and am beginning to wonder how long he will last.

had run someone who was more clownish in Sliwa, they might have won. And if Adams continues to mis-speak and makes these awkward moves, he could be a one term Mayor. Garcia was the better choice and we might rue not nominating her.

Meet Eric Adams: The rat-hating, gun-toting former Republican in line to be New York City’s next mayor

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/eric-adams-new-york-mayor-b1880611.html

He has also borrowed criminal justice rhetoric from Republicans, claiming Democrats have “abandoned our cities” and “demonised” law enforcement in debates over police reform.

“I understand crime, and I understand abuse,” he told CBS. “They throw up their hands and we’re continuing to see the same problems in our cities.”

He has previously said he carries a gun when he attends church, and he has suggested he would carry a gun if elected mayor.

In an interview with FAQ NYC in 2020, he said: “Yes, I will, number one, and number two, I won’t have a security detail. If the city is safe, the mayor shouldn’t have a security detail with him, he should be walking the streets by himself. Number three, the hypocrisy of those who are citywide officials who said that you shouldn’t have guns in church: those guys that walk in with them? They got guns. So there’s a level of hypocrisy for a citywide official to say no one should have a gun in the church, but they don’t tell their people, ‘Hey, hang outside.’ If we could protect them in a church with a gun then we can protect Miss Mary with her Bible with a gun.”

From 1997 until 2001, Mr Adams was registered to vote as a Republican. (In 1995, he told the New York Daily News that he believed “there are a large number of closet Black Republicans in the city, and if you take a close look at some of the concepts of the Republican Party, you’ll see that many of them are our values”.)

I voted for Garcia in the primary and really hoped she would come out the winner.
For the election I just couldn’t vote for Sliwa - he’s such an idiot.
We’ll see where this ends up. I am not optimistic.

I was living in Brooklyn when Adams was Burrough President. I don't recall anything terrible, or really off putting that caught my attention.

I would never have voted for Silwa!

Wow, kids sleeping sleeping 6 - 7 hours at night?!!! Wth?
Kids brains are growing, they need a good amount of sleep.

Hopefully he'll end up being better than not. DB did some good stuff, not everything.
