"SNIP.....

The long-awaited, long-feared Gerrymandering Apocalypse of 2021 has not materialized for Democrats after all.

Throughout last year, many analysts and panicked Democrats alike concluded that Republicans would win the House in 2022 because of their outsize control over the redrawing of district lines. Some suggested Republicans could take the House on the strength of extreme gerrymanders alone.

....

But that conventional wisdom just took a big hit with the release of a new analysis by the Cook Political Report. It concludes that the redistricting wars are shaping up as a wash and that the map may be somewhat better for Democrats than during the past decade.

The analysis finds that in the 34 states that have completed redrawn House district lines thus far, President Biden would have carried 161 of 293 districts based on the 2020 vote totals versus 157 under current lines.

......SNIP"

But I’m first to admit to being as Machiavellian as the next guy.

Politics is a cutthroat game where the only rule is to win. And the winner gets to dominate the game board.

And if that’s how it is, then I want MY team to prevail. By any means necessary. Period.

Folks, especially Democrats it seems, are often too quick to embrace doom and gloom and then work to spread it far and wide. It's why I have to take a break from politics from time to time. If I didn't I'd be too emotionally exhausted to engage when it really matters, right before elections.

for so long that they are quite surprised when they find that Democrats really aren't in disarray. The Republican held all the cards in reapportionment and couldn't get the job done. The media seems to be blind to Republican incompetence and disarray.

Especially among reporters whose favorite-or “best” - contacts are republi-CON or others with a CONservative agenda.

Does Pox Noise ever have objective fact-checking? I don’t bother asking about OAN or Newsmax. Their agenda is clear.

doesn't gerrymandering have to hit a mathematical wall at some point?
