I recently heard of the passing of Colin Powell.
I have to say this: I hated the Bush administration, and the entire neocon crowd, with a passion, and do to this day. I believe they made the world a much worse place, and laid the groundwork for many of the problems of the last two decades. In a just world they would have been locked away for war crimes.
And yet, for some reason, I have a soft spot for Colin Powell. He seemed to have some redeeming qualities. I'm kinda sad that he is gone.

The Republicans have done this many times to black Republicans they recruit. Carson is another but they elevated him because he was pron he, Carson bout the big lie about opportunity and he was willing to abuse his religious beliefs for political purposes.
You gotta wonder was Herman Cain, encouraged, to go to the Oklahoma Orangeman rally because he had become unhappy with the Republicans?
