Pelosi: GOP engaged in 'legislative continuation' of the 1/6 attack

Nancy Pelosi accused Republicans of a 'legislative continuation' of the January 6 Capitol riot, claiming on Sunday that the opposition party is attempting to undermine democracy with their voter integrity laws.

'What the Republicans are doing across the country is really a legislative continuation of what they did on January 6, which is to undermine our democracy, to undermine the integrity of our elections, to undermine the voting power, which is the essence of a democracy,' the House Speaker told on Sunday CBS Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan.

'So, we have to do that bill,' she said of the For the People Act, which aims to address voter access, election integrity and security and campaign finance and ethics laws.

Pelosi added: 'There is no more important bill that enables us to support and defend the constitution of the United States.'
