Unless they’re all working for Putin I just don’t understand it whatsoever. Up until everybody started getting sick, it was the red states that were getting kicked hardest.

It’s certain that a great deal of the social messaging spouting anti mask and anti vax bs is coming from Russia. But why our own Republican politicians? It can’t be to suck up to Trump because Trump even came out and said he got the shot and the booster. So then why?

It’s just the craziest damn thing.

And most in the right-winged corporate media like Andrea "Past her sell date" Mitchell and Chuck "Dumb and ignorant as a bag of hammers" Todd also go along with blaming everything on Biden.

Blame it on Biden. The media will help. Scratch that. The media is already helping. By 2024, no one will remember that Covid was here long before Biden's term began.

I don't get it. It's like our media thinks it will be "business as usual" if we go full on authoritarian.

Undertakers, estate lawyers, probate courts, as well as Republican inheritances to be targeted for political donations and spent by heirs.

It's sort of like the political equivalent of speeding up the assembly line. Faster throughput means more money for Republican businesses.

Their rich and powerful (and by default their politicians) seem to frame everything in terms of the effects on business with little or no regard for worker's interests. Government forcing a business to do anything is much worse than a global pandemic to hard-line wealthy Republicans living in gated communities or on yachts.

In this case, I think they want to keep the workforce afraid and hungry and begging for jobs at lowest salary. Fear, anxiety and delusion are their best friends.

None of these voters think they'll be the one to die from COVID and from personal experience these people NEVER admit that they're wrong about something.

It's been bugging me all last year but I think I got it sometime in October. Why would so many people put so much effort into promoting disinformation and risky behavior that often ends in death or disability, mostly for people of similar political inclination?

I think it's their sacrifice, their pledge of ultimate loyalty, they'll avoid vaccination and mask-wearing and put their lives on the line to ruin Biden's presidency and "pwn the libs" in the next election. This is their version of the D-day invasion, with half the GQP landing on the metaphorical beaches of Coronavirus-occupied "Normandy". Their losses, while horrific, are electorally insignificant. When they go to the voting booth they'll remember dear old uncle Fred, who gave his life for freedom, and vote for the Republicans from blind loyalty.

Just my opinion but so far it's the only explanation that makes sense to me.

Their rich benefactors are getting a helluva lot richer. Businesses now have an excuse to cut their already overworked staff even more so they can take more of the profits for themselves. Republicans are quickly getting to the point where they can just steal elections because most Americans have never bothered to vote, especially not in their local elections and primaries. So we have Republican state legislatures and government that can sabotage free elections with even more of the shenanigans we saw in 2020. They simply don't need their voters anymore.
