(21,578 posts)someone coordinated this, and that was no small task. They had to get signatures from all the electors. it will be interesting to see under what pretense they got the signatures. was it:
1. Hey, we're going to commit a coup, throw out the other electors, and put yours in" which makes the signees part of a criminal conspiracy.
or did they bullshit them a little.......
2. Hey with all this fraud, the legislature is going to throw out the results. We just need you to sign this now because we need to have your votes at the archives in time for Jan 6 when they get counted. If the results don't get tossed, eh well, don't worry we'll just shred this and it won't matter.
I would like to think if #1 was the explanation they got that the electors would have said no, but these are rethugs we are talking about. people with no sense of shame, duty to country, or moral compass. Yet #2 seems far more like just in the sense that it is the easiest way to be sure you can get everyone to sign, which is all the fraudster putting this together really cares about.
I would hope and expect ALL the electors in all 5 states to be deposed and explain exactly WHO asked them to sign and what explanation they were given. If they had just signed the document and it just got thrown in the trash after Jan 6 without anyone ever seeing it, probably no big deal. But the fact the crime of fraud by mail was committed makes this pretty damning. it is the sending it to the archives that makes this something DOJ has got to prosecute. if we are going to jail people for voter fraud in elections where they are 1 person out of millions, we sure as hell better be prosecuting voter fraud in elections that only contain 535 votes.
