A Democrat won a US House seat this week with 79% of the vote. Her GOP opponent has not conceded

She won 79 percent of the vote over Republican Jason Mariner, who was born in Boston and founded a drug and alcohol detox center in Florida. Mariner got less than 20 percent of the vote and trails Cherfilus-McCormick by over 32,000 votes. For context, Biden beat Trump statewide in Georgia by 11,000 votes.

“Now they called the race, I did not win, so they say, but that does not mean that they lost either, it does not mean that we lost,” Mariner was quoted by the Miami CBS affiliate as saying.

He said he will file a lawsuit. Election officials say it takes 14 days to certify the results. Mariner, then, has 10 days to challenge them.

To be clear, Cherfilus-McCormick doesn’t need Mariner to concede to be seated in Congress. Members of the House approve who sits in the chamber and Democrats, for now, control the House.

That said, this week’s episode shows the Republican Party could be drifting toward a new norm of refusing to concede — even in landslides. In Washington state, the Republican candidate for governor refused to concede, even though results showed he lost by over 500,000 votes. Of course, Trump reiterated this week in an interview with NPR that he still wants to talk about how he believes the 2020 election was stolen from him.

Who is funding this, and who is coordinating it?

Just asking...

This tactic is now pervasive. It takes money to leverage legal and other institutional mechanisms for the purpose of undermining voters' faith in the integrity of elections--and ultimately democracy. Clearly this is the end game.

What are the MAIN SOURCES of the money that sustains this? Can we know?

In 2022 ALL current Democrats should refuse to concede.
Let's see what THEIR investigative and prosecutorial teams find.
They did that in battleground states and failed. Let them have at it again.

They must pay for recounts and audits, and should be banned from running for state or federal office after both recount and audit confirm the first-proclaimed winner.

ANY and EVERY election where the Dems win is "Stolen" by default. If they repeat this lie over and over again they will in fact destroy out democracy. It might happen as early as this year, because there are a lot of elections this year. Believe me, ALL of them will be tainted by the big lie, if there is a Republican running. They all do the same thing. And they all say it's the Dems who are corrupt. Even when all the evidence proves otherwise.

It's diabolical and I can't figure a way out.

Anytime a Republican loses even by massive margins, a howl will go out claiming fraud.

Why?

Because any Democratic candidate winning an election will be deemed fraudulent and illegitimate.

This is our future unless we get this ship turned around.

Trump was taped recently saying vote counters are more important than candidates. The GOP has to be smarter, he added.

Dangerous, dangerous waters we're navigating.

On TV they were saying that Democrats outnumbered Republicans in voter registration in the district 5 to 1.

So the Republican in the race got 19 point something percent of the vote there when only 16.5% of the voters were Republicans.

That's obviously evidence of voter fraud since the Republican over-performed expectations.
