(92,219 posts)Civil Rights movement accomplished, is slowly being undone
How do you honor MLK without it?
I'm not sure if those two understand the gravity of what they have done.

(8,361 posts)Sometimes I don't know what to think anymore.
I just read that Bill Clinton tried to convince the two of them as well. Then Obama's plea failed too.
I am sure they tried their best, I don't doubt they explained the gravity of the situation, so you may be right.

Romney, another alleged good guy against Trump, was a no too.
Win at any cost.

The family of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has a special and unique request to celebrate his memory this year. Typically Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed for community events such as parades, prayer breakfasts, luncheons and not to mention the much-needed day off of work. But this year, loved ones of the slain civil rights leader are asking observers to observe the holiday differently and are requesting no celebrations until lawmakers pass voting rights legislation.
