A 16 year old was shot over barbecue sauce, but in Milwaukee...

Another teenager was shot and killed in an elaborate "holdup" hoax plan, by a guy who wasn't in on the plan and shouldn't have a gun in the first place, much less at work.

Complaint: 'Staged' Burger King robbery led to shooting of teen

Antoine Edwards, 41 charged with felony murder

MILWAUKEE —
Niesha Harris-Brazell, the teen who died when a coworker opened fire on a man trying to rob the Burger King she was working at, was part of a robbery plan with her best friend who was also the would-be robber's daughter, prosecutors said two suspects told them, according to a criminal complaint against the man.

Antoine Edwards is charged with felony murder as well as contributing to the delinquency of a child where death is a consequence, according to the complaint.

In the document, prosecutors said Edwards daughter, who was working Jan. 2 at the Burger King near 51st Boulevard and Capitol Drive, did not initially tell investigators what happened that night was the result of a staged robbery she helped plan.

As the investigation wore on, prosecutors wrote, Edwards daughter, who is not identified by name in the complaint, later admitted the plan was to rob the restaurant when the register was likely to have "lots of money."

(snip)

Prosecutors said surveillance video showed a fellow employee, Derrick Ellis, shooting at the armed person reaching through the drive-thru window. According to the complaint, Ellis was not in on the staged robbery plan.

I think it is the robber who is charged with murder, not the employee who shot petronius Jan 2022 #3
Employee is charged for being a felon in possession of the gun. LisaL Jan 2022 #5

The shooter was apparently a felon in possession of a gun, so he is in trouble, too. tblue37 Jan 2022 #11
There were a couple of holes in that plan. Sneederbunk Jan 2022 #4

more like the real robber had inside help.

the fellow employee will probably ve fired for breach of company policy, but i don't think i'd vote to convict.

on the other hand, any employee and the robber should be charged with armed robbery and felony murder.

the author thinks "staged" means the same thing as "inside job"/

"staged" means it was fake/pretend.
