Former President Donald Trump is blaming “woke executives” for pulling far-Right channel One America News (OAN) from DirecTV.

In remarks at his rally in Arizona on Saturday, the former president railed against the network’s removal from one of the nation’s largest TV providers.

“The woke executives, I don’t know what the hell they’re doing,” Trump said. “They have so much debt. (DirecTV parent company) AT&T is a company that is in serious trouble. And they need AT&T, and AT&T is saying that they may no longer agree to carry this network that’s doing very well. You know why? Because people told them not to do it.”

The former president then floated a call for his supporters to boycott AT&T.

First, that pissant network has under 20,000 viewers during primetime. They're losing money, so they're not "doing very well.". Not that TFG has any idea how business works.
Second, AT&T took a $15+ billion write-down on video businesses taking a balance sheet hit on asset value. (BTW: the defections from their platforms slowed dramatically right as they were doing this.) They still showed $4.8 billion in pretax profit. The $15+ billion didn't actually go anywhere. They made $20 billion above expenses. They are not in " serious trouble". Unless one is an idiot that has no idea how business works. Which, as we established above, describes TFG.

We woke up to the fact we lose $5000 an hour transmitting One America News Network to the fifty people who watch it. Because we are not in the business of losing money, we decided the few people who want to watch the terrible programming they broadcast can stream it on their phones.

You will be pleased to know we’ve decided to change the programming on that channel to the Thomas Klapotke Network. It’s nothing but explosions, the science of explosions and interviews with people in the explosions industry. Since people love to watch explosions, Dr. Klapotke’s channel will be instantly popular…unlike that channel we’re ending.

Fox News host Howard Kurtz seemed to mock former President Donald Trump on Sunday by calling OAN his "favorite network" after the channel was dropped by DirecTV.

During a segment on Fox News about Trump's decision to abruptly end an interview with NPR, Kurtz also pointed out that OAN is losing most of its audience.

"Speaking of Trump and the media, his favorite network, One America News, is being dropped by AT&T's DirecTV," Kurtz said. "That's a big blow to OAN in terms of its reach and its revenue."
