Since OAN is canceled by DirecTV and now Newsmax canceled by some cable companies, it appears there is some momentum to rid these cancerous stations. Maybe we should revisit pressuring the NFL to drop Fox Sports due to Faux News dangerous propaganda. See letter from the NAACP from earlier in 2021.

(1,364 posts)Without the NFL package, I think more people would demand that Fox News be taken off of cable, etc.

(42,703 posts)OAN has a small audience and an expiring contract, which is probably the principal reason that DirecTV is dropping the network. On the other hand NFL football on Fox has a large audience and a contract that runs through 2033.

(1,364 posts)Fox Corporation. Since they are both owned by Fox Corporation, they are not comparing apples and oranges when they are one in the same???? Also, Newsmax, which has a decent audience is now being pulled by several cable companies. In addition, the NAACP wrote a letter to Roger Goodell asking him to drop Fox - if it is good enough for the NAACP to put pressure on Roger Goodell, then I think it is good enough for DU to pressure Roger Goodell.

(13,058 posts)stop them from dumping Fox Sports. They might take a short term financial hit but it would be the right thing to do. There are ways to get out of that contract.
