...after what we went thru for four years under the former guy.
Their criticism seems to be hollow. How soon they forget.
Now, they are in the process of portraying Trump as the odds-on favorite to be the Republican nominee in 2024. They are still attempting to normalize the sociopath five years later.
At the same time, they seem to forget the insurrection that he incited to overthrow our government and keep himself in power.
How does anyone "normalize" that?

Only $$$$$$ talk for these people. No matter what happens to the country, they will be just fine. They have their money to keep them warm.

(8,834 posts)Bad enough we allow Fox & RW radio to claim to be "news". But the mass media of the U.S. in all forms is 80+% owned by Republicans..........The only reason MSNBC allows for Maddow and a few others is that they are massive Revenue producers.
They make a ton of money off their shows, and we all know, if there is one thing the corporations value much greater than The Republican Party, it is money, money, money.......
The Republican media is no better than PRAVDA for the most part............

He told me that the Russian Citizens are laughing at how easily it was for Putin to play Trump and many other Repub politicians.......
They figure Putin has done an incredible job of trashing the U.S. and Democracy, and all without a war, or firing a missile or rocket.....

He is an evil genius. He has brought the US to an internal psy-ops war, and yes it was easy. He didn't have to fire a shot.
The US and democracy has taken a major hit.
Our standing in the world is greatly tarnished, and democracy does not look like the best form of government right now.

(8,834 posts)especially tampering with the Senate votes in Maine and Kentucky among others.
Everyone has to remember that the Republican SENATORS rallied around him, and played every bit the leader of this Sedition.....
If Trump didn't have the full force of the Republican Party and Senate pushing him forward, he wouldn't have lasted a month.....
The Republican Senate used Trump as a daily diversion from the corrupt shit they were doing in the shadows and behind their smoke and mirrors......
We were, and still are a millimeter away from a CORPORATE FASCIST TYRANNY.................

(47,114 posts)But we can make educated guesses about what Putin did and how
All we have to do is look at decades of CIA and KGB operations.
Putin did not have to reinvent the wheel here.
Yes it is most certain that senate races were tampered with.
And I believe that McConnell has psy-op profiles on all sitting US senators.
And he was able to flip two US senators to his side.
How much does Putin help McConnell? Putin is one of the richest men in the world, and there are many Chinese and Russian oligarchs who will pump money McConnell's way.
DENVERPOPS
(8,834 posts)who are chinese oligarchs............I seem to remember that Trump made McConnells wife secretary of labor?????
Chao????????
The russian bimbo who was coordinating with the U.S. NRA to set up a chapter of the NRA in Russia was a perfect set up.
Russia then pours a ton of money into the NRA, it is perfectly laundered and spread through all the Senate and House members up for re-election.......The candidates learn where the money came from, and Putin has all of them under his thumb also for accepting foreign donations from an enemy state........
I am old, and I am sure I won't see much of what will happen, either good or bad. But there are gonna be a ton of books written for the next 100 years about this period. (Of course, if Trump and Republicans win, all the books will be written with their BS bias and alternative facts of the events....and all others will be burnt, and the writers sent to the Gulag......)

(2,502 posts)And as for the media, I can't watch MSNBC in the morning anymore. That Lemire? guy at 5 in the morning has a negative spin against Biden just about every day and it sets a tone that goes right into the next program.

(111,098 posts)It is very difficult to get Democrats to agree on anything unanimously, like Republicans do all the time.
NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)... and to not support the Biden agenda (and the Biden administration) at every crucial moment? This type of behavior is NOT a virtue and it will cost us in the long run.

(111,098 posts)That's just the way it is. That doesn't mean that's the way it should be.
Look at how difficult it was to get them to vote for Obamacare.

(231 posts)As a long time reader Ive never felt the need to have an account but this REALLY ticked me off! I live in WV, I voted for Manchin and do you know WHY I voted for him? Because all across tge country, all over every dem chat forum, there was a chorus of dem voices YELLING that if we didnt vote for Manchin wed end up with a Republican and that the D after his name was more important than his views. Does that refresh your memory? Every WV dem I know absolutely detests Joe Manchin!!
kentuck
(111,098 posts)Is it possible to beat him with a primary opponent?
Welcome!
NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)As I've said many times, we should count our blessings for that "D" after his name and be thankful that McConnell isn't the senate majority leader.
Obsessing about Manchin does nothing to increase our numbers elsewhere. Better to focus on finding vulnerable Republicans to defeat, or to put a strong effort in flipping seats of any retiring GOP senators.

We need to improve our numbers elsewhere. I think Chuck Grassley is vulnerable. I think Val Demings has a very good chance against Marco Rubio. I'm sure there are a few others.

Enough.
Even MSNBC does this too often. I get more news here on DU than I do from TV. I mostly just watch certain MSNBC hosts.

(9,670 posts)They own each and every media outlet, and word on the street is that they don't like to pay their fair share of taxes.
That's why we have to overwhelm them with our numbers. Our chief enemy isn't the GOP, it's complacency and apathy.
Tommymac
(7,263 posts)Thank You. Complacency and Apathy have ALWAYS been the D's most brutal enemies.
We have lost more elections because of those 2 things then for any other reason.
If Dems turnout, Dems win.

(7,541 posts)The media has failed utterly at their job as watchdog of our government and as protectors of our citizens' individual freedoms. If someone in DC says something important I can find it at any of several sites on the internet that do not spread conspiracies, racism and pro-war capitalist propaganda by Republicans for their Wall Street masters.
Sign off from the national media...don't buy cable...they lie and misrepresent every time they go on air.
