Rock for Roe virtual concert in support of Planned Parenthood
"This Saturday marks the 49th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, which in 1973 guaranteed American womens right to an abortion. Even so, states across the country in recent years have passed legislation designed to severely limit that right, in some cases narrowing the window in which a woman can receive an abortion or setting up trigger laws that would automatically ban the medical practice should Roe be overturned. Among those states is Tennessee, where Tennessee Advocates for Planned Parenthood are demanding that the state legislature not pass any anti-abortion laws during the currently underway session. On the anniversary of the Roe decision, a slew of extremely talented Nashville artists will come together for a virtual concert at Third Man Records in support of TAPP a show initially slated to take place in person at Third Man Records, but moved online due to concerns over heightened COVID numbers. The lineup is a whos who of local rock, pop and Americana artists and genuinely exceptional songwriters, including Aaron Lee Tasjan, Becca Mancari, Joy Oladokun, Lilly Hiatt, Nicole Atkins, Tristen and Ziona Riley. Folks who pay for virtual admission can also expect a performance from beloved local comic and sometime Scene collaborator Josh Black, as well as some special guests. Make a donation via this link and youll receive a livestream link to the show anyone who donates $100 or more will also receive a T-shirt and show poster. 8 p.m. streaming from Third Man Records"
