(3,341 posts)Just my own addendum to your public service announcement (and thank you! for that): To date, I think the longest available test kit shelf-life is just over twelve months, the three we purchased last month have a shelf-life of only eight months.
Chances are, it will be printed on the box its packaged in. I think it's something we should all bear in mind over the coming year.

(2,203 posts)I am wondering if we have to be vigilant to retrieve from mailbox if in a very cold area? I know the Binax tests have to be stored above 35F, so i hope whatever is getting shipped out can endure the temps.
Anyone know?

(3,341 posts)Long-term storing kits above 86° F or below about 37° F decreased the accuracy of the tests, but that applies to long-term storage.
In the short term (shipping and distribution for example), I have no data, but would think its efficacy wouldn't be affected by a measurable amount unless in an extreme environment.
