Another WTF Florida Man story. Man tried to jump and kill jogger. Jogger knew martial arts.

Jogger prevailed. Neither man knew each other.

Sounds like a potential serial killer was thwarted on his first try.

COCOA, Fla. – A man is locked up in Brevard County after deputies say he tried to strangle a jogger with the plan of keeping the victim’s body stored in his bedroom closet.

Deputies arrested Logan Smith, 18, near his home in the 7400 block of Batavia Ave. Monday.

According to investigators, Smith laid out a bedsheet in his driveway and then hid behind a light pole along Batavia Avenue with a waist belt from a robe. Deputies said Smith had also put an aerosol can of Axe body spray and a rubber mallet near the pole.

For the good of society as a whole.

This would be a clear cut example of such a person.

Deputies said when they questioned Smith, he admitted to trying to strangle the victim. Smith said he had planned to drag the man into the driveway and then use the bed sheet to aid him in getting the jogger into his bedroom, records show.

Investigators said Smith had been watching the jogger for some time, learning his patterns. Smith admitted he wanted to have the victim’s body “all to himself,” the affidavit reads, and that he planned to fulfill sexual fantasies with the body.

Lots of seasonal male workers and sex workers to relieve them of their pay, isolation, weather, long dark nights, inadequate or nonexistent policing in a lot of areas may be factors.

AK is followed by LA, then the stats swing into the midwest for the next four.

CA, TX and then FL have the greatest number, but then they're the largest states by population also.

Of course this kid, hopefully, isn't a serial or any kind of killer. The FBI's criteria include 2 or more separate murders, and the last wave of serial killings was reportedly in the 1980s into the 1990s. According to the FBI, these days there are roughly 50 active at any one time.

What scares me about this kid, is that he very much wanted a dead body for the purpose of having sex. I don't think there is anything redeemable about this creep.

of even being among those who someday will have to decide if he's become safe to release into society. Apparently a lot of killers aren't at all crazy. They just want and decide to, and this kid already reached those critical points.
