I get a lot of emails from politicians and causes, asking for money. But this one broke my heart...

Maybe because I'm from Connecticut myself.

George,

154: That’s how many bullets the Sandy Hook shooter fired in four minutes using an assault weapon.

26: That’s how many people the shooter murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary. Twenty children and six educators.

5: That’s how many bullets hit my beautiful butterfly Dylan. In an instant, my little boy was gone forever.

The AR-15-style assault weapon that the Sandy Hook shooter used is similar to the weapons used in many of our country’s deadliest mass shootings – including Parkland, Las Vegas, Orlando, Sutherland Springs and Boulder.

It breaks my heart to think of all of the lives that could have been saved if lawmakers had stopped the sale of assault weapons sooner.

Dylan and so many others might still be alive today. I don’t want any other parent or family member to wonder “what if” Congress had taken action before their loved one was murdered – it’s up to us, right now, to push our lawmakers to finally pass reforms we know would save lives.

That’s why we’re gathering 50,000 petition signatures on our new petition to show our leaders there is overwhelming demand to stop the sale of assault weapons. Please, will you to add your name now to help save precious lives?

Please click here to sign the petition urging Congress to immediately stop the sale of assault weapons like the one that killed my baby boy.

Time and again, assault rifles like the AR-15 continue to be the weapon of choice for mass shooters – and the devastating consequences will continue until action is taken.

That’s why I’m so grateful to you for speaking out for real, meaningful change today. Every action you take helps me build a legacy for Dylan – and for all of the lives senselessly cut short by gun violence. It means so much. Thank you.

With love,

Nicole Hockley (Dylan's mom)

My cousin’s daughter was one of the teachers who sheltered some of the children that horrific day.
