We need much better PSAs on voting rights and voter participation, for radio, TV and social media

Turnout was a lot better in 2020 than in 2016, when the US was 30th among 35 countries ranked here:

https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2020/11/03/in-past-elections-u-s-trailed-most-developed-countries-in-voter-turnout/

But it's still much too low. And the media in general -- and RW media in particular -- aren't covering the facts about voting rights and voter participation.

My impression is that most Americans have no idea how poorly our country compares to others, in terms of voter turnout.

We tend to have shorter attention spans these days, so a PSA shouldn't run longer than 30 seconds. Even 15 seconds can deliver some facts effectively.

We are heading into a mid-term election year, and though those typically aren't nearly as lucrative in terms of political ad revenue for media as presidential election years, we're likely to see record advertising, with so much at stake in this mid-term election.

And since the FCC doesn't require a certain number of PSAs, it's important that they be as short and impactful as possible, and as early in the year as possible.

Democratic candidates will be focusing on these issues, too. These are OUR issues, since they're ones Republicans have abandoned. But to reach independents and any Republicans who can be swayed, the PSAs can't be specifically partisan (and that would take more time, anyway, in a very limited script).

And no, I don't know exactly who should be producing these PSAs and delivering the messages. Celebrities sometimes help, but sometimes that backfires, too. Celebrities from other countries could comment on the US not having voter participation equal to their countries, but in some markets that might backfire, too.

But we have a lot of experts on messaging in our party. Many doing things like podcasting now. I hope at least some of them are working on messages that can be inserted as short PSAs across media in the first several months of this year, before the paid political advertisements drown everything else out.

In 2020 - that we (black Americans and other minority Americans) are being punished by GOP State Governments.

That no vote was designed to stifle our voices, tell us to sit down, shut up, and accept taxation without representation.

Don’t try any advertising on ATT tho, they still hosting fascist OAN…how did that even begin??

The corporate fascist media is intertwined like Medusas head, industry to industry cooperation with mass media at the pinnacle on the pyramid of thought control.

No need for meetings and actual direct coordination, it’s all an unwritten code.
