Bernie Sanders: The time for Senate talk is over. We need to vote

Opinion by Bernie Sanders
Updated 7:46 PM ET, Thu January 20, 2022

Excerpt:

If Manchin, Sinema and Senate Republicans want to sink the Build Back Better package and then go on vote against individual bills that do exactly what the American people want: lowering prescription drug costs, demanding the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes, expanding Medicare, improving home healthcare, extending the Child Tax Credit, building affordable housing, addressing the crisis of childhood poverty, making a wildly expensive child care system affordable and combating climate change, they should have that opportunity. And then they can go home and try to explain their votes to their constituents. That's what democracy is supposed to be about.

Democrats will not win in 2022 with a demoralized base. There must be energy and excitement. Today, in these difficult times, the American people want to know that their elected officials have the courage to take on the powerful special interests and fight for their needs.

And, when we do that, the fundamental differences between the two parties will become crystal clear. That's how you win elections.

and don't need excitement or to 'fall in love', should just look at our 5050 Senate and understand that we NEED MORE DEMOCRATS. Perhaps, they might realize that not showing up will only make matters worse...some of that so-called base didn't show up in 16 and this caused terrible consequences with the courts, tax law, Covid deaths, etc.

He thinks he holds all the cards..right now he may, we don’t have to play

His MO is to sink President Biden and the dem agenda... just by running out the clock. He needs to be exposed for who he really is

Oh and the one from AZ...a poll released today of AZ dem voters, her approval rating is 8%!

It's annoying, but it's much better to find things that all 50 Democratic senators can agree to than have a series of high-profile losing votes.

You want to pressure them? Hang their fucking votes around their necks. It speaks unbelievable volumes if this isn’t done, since it’s easy enough since WE HAVE THE FUCKING MAJORITY. Make them the ENEMIES OF AMERICA. How hard is this? Sure doesn’t seem that fucking hard from up in the nosebleeds. I wonder if FIGHTING against this torrent of obstructionist BULLSHIT will yield any fruit in November? Nah, you’re right. Get FUCKING NOTHING and try to explain why we’re fucking helpless. Do your job or go the fuck home.
