I am currently doing research for a political piece, and would be grateful for your assistance.
What I am in need of is a complete list of current Republican members of congress who have upheld their oath of office (i.e. to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, yadda yadda), and have actually used the powers of their office to improve the lives of their constituents (that would be the people who elected them in the first place.)
Given how few Republicans would meet the criteria set out above, I'm pretty sure a comprehensive list can be compiled within ten to fifteen minutes - including typing it up, choosing an appropriate font, proofreading and double-checking for any possible inaccuracies. (As you can see, my estimate even includes ample time for a coffee break.)
Once the list is completed, you can email it to me - or, if more convenient, you can simply jot down the names on a 3" x 5" post card and drop it in the regular mail. (As the information is not time-sensitive, I can wait the usual six to eight weeks as per Louis DeJoy's delivery guidelines).
I am mindful how valuable your time is, which is why I have ensured that fulfilling my request can be accomplished with little time and effort - after which you can go back to your more important duties of supporting the Big Lie, suppressing the vote, encouraging division and violence, spreading misinformation about Covid vaccinations, taking credit for popular Biden policies that you voted against, ensuring that women and POC don't get too outspoken or uppity about their 'rights', burning books, defending insurrectionists, making heroes of gun-toting murderers, and keeping the country safe from Sesame Street muppets and inappropriate M&M characters in between pilgrimages to Mara-Lago in order to kiss The Orange One's big fat ass.
As you can see, I am fully aware (as are most citizens) of just how busy your schedules are, and exactly what you devote your time to. So sparing a few minutes to enlighten us as to who among you are actually using their time to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law shouldn't be too onerous a task.
TIA, NanceGreggs

And it's not like the GOP would ever acknowledge them as Republicans upholding their oaths of office - they are seen as traitors for having done so.

(2,039 posts)This is so insightful on two points:
"What are they for?" as in "What are the good for?" Answer: nothing.
and
"What are they for?" as in "What do they stand for?" Answer: nothing, except for legislation that will make themselves and other wealthy people even wealthier.
