Question about people being taken off of the transplant lists, due to not being covid vaccinated

I check the FB page of Shamgar Connors, who was taken off of the kidney waiting list. Apparently, people are claiming they will donate one of THEIR kidneys to him so he's raising funds to pay for the surgery.

My question is, will a transplant team do this surgery, even though he doesn't meet the criteria? And, yea, when push comes to shove, I doubt anyone will actually follow through.

Certainly not an option open to the anti vaxxer guy who needs a heart transplant.

And recovery, possible time in a rehab facility, who knows what else, plus a liability for all medical staff involved.

Sounds iffy to me.

But you will have a massive serious surgery to help one stranger. Yeah right.

So there's really not any logic to his thinking. This is going to be an interesting 'story' to follow. I keep waiting to read he's in the hospital with Covid. Of course, with stage 4 kidney failure, if he catches it he might not live long enough to make it to the hospital.

There are strict protocols in place for transplant recipients.

First it’s the pick and choose bible with these idiots, then pick and choose facts now pick and choose science.

The family of Jahi McMath found someone willing to perform a tracheotomy on her corpse after she died. Of course, that’s not an organ transplant. But the point remains. They may find someone.

Yeah, get a kidney on FB that's the trick. Best of luck to them all. It will NEVER happen. I'd almost bet my life on that. Little more to a kidney (or any organ) transplant than soliciting one on FB.

No transplant surgeon or hospital is going to blow their five year survival rates on people likely to die.

When my husband needed a kidney, his sisters, very churchy Iowanians all said they'd give a kidney. The screening to see if his sisters matched involved a blood test. We sent the paperwork, and all of a sudden, Well, gee, I've got this, I'm not sure....All talk.

If your transplant team, who's aware of you long before you need a transplant, determines you are medically ineligible, then bummer. If you've got coronavirus, then you are not a good host for the new kidney. Them's the medical facts.

Kenny the Kidney is almost 9.

We thank the donor and his family every day, not god, not jeebus, either.

It's a culling of the herd at this point.

Even if you bring your own donor, you still have to qualify to be listed. Vaccination for COVID is a criteria for being listed.
