Ceding ground doesn't seem like a good idea this cycle. It never is, but you have to wonder what's up with our political farm system.

We will almost surely keep the Senate seat and the Congressional seat. Someone will run for governor, but if Scott looks as strong as we was last time, it may be very hard. The Vermont legislature is majority Democratic . In addition, Scott is a Vermont Republican, who made it clear quite early that he would not vote for Trump.

He supported Party organizations nationwide. He didn't find candidates.

But candidates in Red States have to feel like the party is behind them. And you get that by being proactive, present as a leader, as a party, in every district. The locals generate the candidates, but they need to have a home. Organizations like Run for Something are trying at the grass roots. The DNC has to till the soil--water and weed.
