Unlike Dems' Illinois gerrymander, which was thrown together pretty sloppily at the last minute, I can only find a few isolated places where this NY gerrymander "strands" Dem votes in GOP districts - and even then, we're talking fractions of points.

It's a brutal map for Rs.

but the redistricting means that Maliotakis may be my new representative (park Slope) and I'm really wondering how that is going to work! It feels insane!

But we'd have a whole other year with her as our Rep, right? I'm really curious if she'd be changing her tune. (I know ultimately it will lead to someone new. People saying max rose, but I don't know how well he'd play to Park Slope and Gowanus.)

If Republicans want to abolish gerrymandering at the federal level, there are more than enough Democrats willing to join them in doing so; until then, fuck Republicans. Blue states should use everything in their power to fight back against the anti-democratic ways of the Republican Party.

That takes boundary-drawing out of the hands of the politicians then I will cheer. Until then fuck these Republicans wherever we can.

I'm fucking sick of self-righteous pleas for us to unilaterally disarm in the hope that Repukes will stop gerrymandering every district in which they have the ability to do so.

Not to trade advantages in the hope of retaining them but to make sure every vote counts.
