Jim Clyburn sure can pick 'em

50 years ago today, Shirley Chisholm blazed a trail by being the 1st woman & 1st African American to declare her candidacy for president. I was proud to cast my ballot to support her nomination at the 1972 Democratic Convention.

the first woman to run. Victoria Clafin Woodhull, Belva Lockwood, and Margaret Chase Smith did before her.
