What are the odds that Trump is still communicating with Putin and the oligarchs?

Did it all end when he was defeated in the last election?

Did he get assistance with his strategy to overthrow the government?

Or was the whole Russian "collusion" thing overblown?

Does anyone know who he is communicating with from Mar-a-Lago?

Is Putin and Russia all a part of the past?

...on how much I thought it was possible to further destabilize the democracy and whether Trump was still a valuable tool in that destabilization. So far, Trump has done a miraculous job for Russia. Also, it might depend on whether there were still financial deals in the works or if there were outstanding debts that needed to be paid?

If Trump served none of those purposes, then Putin would cut him loose.

It's not like Putin treated him that nicely when he was squatting in the WH. Probably didn't take his calls then either, until he was damn good and ready.

Anyway, their arrangement was such that Putin made the calls, and issued the orders. The Slobfather was just a suckup.

3. I think Trump's primary value to Putin is that he is so easily and predictably manipulated.

Trump may have been able to give Putin some useful information while he was president, but mostly all they have to do is get crazy ideas out on friendly networks and social media and Donny will jump on it every.single.time.

If making endless calls and entreaties, all of which go one-way and remain unanswered, « communication, » I guess communication is just fine.

Russian intelligence is watching in glee as the country continues to spiral into ignorant self-destruction.

OF COURSE the FSB is providing financial aid as well as a massive social media operation that stokes the flames of division.

Russians are laughing all the way to the bank watching us tear ourselves apart.

Now, it's clear that the Fascist Right is gaining power here and that they have the greatest chance of destabilizing the USA and weakening it further. So absolutely Putin is feeding the flames of division here by giving support to the Radical Right. Might be Trump, might be the leaders of the far Right. For sure Russia is feeding the propaganda machine over here.
