(113,063 posts)You donated specifically to NC, Mecklenburg and Wake county Dem GOTV efforts as we worked to elect judges in this swing state. It was crucial timing.
Will never forget that. Blue state DUers helped a purple state pull our Dem judges through.

(52,162 posts)but they likely will draw fairer maps since they don't want them drawn by the court. To give you an idea of how radical this gerrymander was, NC was about a 52 to 48 state in favor of the GOP. The Congressional delegation would be 10 to 4 in favor of the GOP if the results were like they were in 2020. If we had a slightly worse election it would be 11 to 3 in the GOP favor. (about 71 to 29 or 79 to 21 in terms of percent). In terms of the legislature under those maps Dems had to get about 58% of the vote to get a bare majority of the seats and it would only take about 54% of the vote for them to get a veto proof supermajority.

(58,662 posts)SCOTUS refers to the Supreme Court of the United States.
The NC Supreme Court should not be referred to as such, more accurate would SCONC.
