If the economics don't work as a mall, they certainly don't work for government use.

These huge malls are maintenance nightmares.

Huge flat roofs that leak.

Massive inefficient HVAC systems that are often old enough to complicate maintenance and repair

Often poorly constructed and poorly insulated.

Many of these mega malls are better off demolished

My point was, these monsters can be turned into legitimate Public Spaces, but yes you're correct the math needs to work out.

And it at the Meadowlands. Not exactly accessible for a local public center.


Which honestly is why it is losing money hand over fist. NJ should tell those Mall of America losers to pound sand.

Or it opened after renovations ?

Malls already werent doing that well before so it seems a bad investment even without the pandemic.

We had the "Memorial Mall."

It was recently torn down mostly, replaced with a Meijer's mini-WalMart.
The part of the Mall that was Kohl's and Bed, Bath and Beyond is closing down soon.
