Another Arizona Republican posts video threatening Democrats

By Josh Israel -February 10, 2022 4:55 PM

GOP Senate candidate Jim Lamon's new ad shows him shooting at an actor playing Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ). Kelly's wife, former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ), was shot and nearly killed in 2011.

In a new campaign ad, Arizona Republican Senate candidate Jim Lamon — appearing as an Old West-style sheriff — shoots at an actor playing his political opponent, incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ).

The ad comes 11 years after Kelly's wife, former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ), was shot in the head and almost killed during a mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona.

Lamon is a former business executive seeking the Republican Senate nomination in Arizona. In the ad, which is slated to air during the Super Bowl, Lamon appears to face off in a showdown against actors playing Kelly, President Joe Biden, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

First, the national ads are sold by NBC, not the NFL. Second, it’s unlikely this idiot has the money to buy a national spot. It’s probably a local ad that will only be seen on one or more independently owned Arizona NBC affiliates. And finally, under Section 315(a) of the Communications Act, broadcasters are prohibited from censoring a candidate ad, so they can’t reject it (or remove it from the air) no matter what its content is.

Especially concerning threatening a rival candidate.

I think most Americans will find it as an example of who these creatins are. I think the FBI should be involved.

This guy is one sick MFer. Especially after what they did to Gabby. I hope Sen. Kelly has additional security.
