Colorado MJ Legalization (Amendment 64) Poll Shows Likely Win

Amendment 64 "looks to be marching its way towards victory on November 6th."

Public Policy Polling surveyed 904 likely voters in Colorado from October 23rd to 25th and found they support Amendment 64 by 53%. Only 43% were opposed and the number of undecideds has shrunk to 5%. The bump in support can be, in part, thanks to the closing of the gender gap, Women now support A64 by a margin of 50% to 46%.

Previous data, released last week by the Denver Post, had Amendment 64 holding onto a small lead, with 48% in support, 43% opposed, and 9% still undecided. It appears that the current campaign media blitz, including two television advertisements and a radio ad featuring Melissa Etheridge, may be having the desired effect. The number of undecided voters continues to dwindle and they look to be breaking in our favor.

Don’t take this victory for granted, this will still be a very close race come Election Day. 12. Actually...it's not.

We went and talked to a cannabis lawyer...one of the guys who helped craft the legislation.

Really...this is kind of a handout to the big business dispensary owners. The legislation clearly states that the board that will decide whether someone gets their pot license (the equivalent of a liquor license) will use as their primary consideration whether or not you already own a dispensary or major licensed grow.

It's a way for the big guys to get in first and squeeze out any little guy looking to get into the game.

I did vote for it...but I was holding my nose when I did.

Plus...he didn't think it would pass...even with the current polling.

14. I am voting here in wa for it

Its not a perfect law but I figure we need to make a start in all the states. My husband has a card,I don't smoke but want it legal.

I think sending eople to prison for it is shameful for our country and hypocritical.

5. On my way home from Cherry Creek Mall - I happen to come across a Rmoney/RAyn sign but with

pro Amendment 64 sign.

That means cannabis can go above the political bickering and get everyone what is needed.

Prohibition will not fall easily. But this is the state that first stopped alcohol prohibition.

Please Colorado, do the right thing! This doesn't just effect Colorado it effects the entire nation...including those in jail right now who should be with their families. It sends a message to the feds that it's over..give up, it's over.

how fitting would it be for Colorado to be the first state to just say no to the stupid drug war.

when (I said, hopefully) this passes, that will just be the start of forcing the fed's hand on this issue. they really, really have nothing to stand on for current scheduling.

Then, of course, there's the ASA appeal to the DC District Court of Appeals to reconsider current scheduling. That needs to happen now. No matter what.

18. I happen to know that my parents are favoring it.

They know I'm a MMJ patient, and can see the difference, really.

They even conceded even in the '60s when weed was plentiful in Boulder as a college students, they have never tried it, but know the difference.

I know people who have had excellent outcomes using mmj for MS, nausea from other health problems, and arthritis.

20. I have a chronic back spasms which frequently flare when I stand up too long.

Doing that has actually reduced the pain and can stand a bit longer. MMJ Dr keeps recommending PT and pot - believe me, I've tried PT and it doesn't really help - I think I have spinal stenosis - because my father has the same condition.

in pretty amazing ways, considering it does not have the potential to create the same problems as opioids.

I have a friend who is a musician who got arthritis in his 30s. MJ helps him, physically, to use his hands.
