Here are the 10 finalists for the Contest. The thread will run for 72 hours, and then I will announce the winners and runners up.
The theme was envisioned and given by HappyCynic who won the January Contest and the winner’s reward in this thread will get to determine the theme for our next contest.
Our final choices are diverse, creative, and beautiful and I am grateful to all participants.
Please read this once more.
The thought behind the theme is to portray something which is distinctly a part of a larger object or item. Can be intact, or not, but it cannot stand alone because the connection to the larger part is definitely implied and necessary to be completed in your imagination.
With that in mind please evaluate and vote on the photographs.

Beautiful photos!
I kind of wish that I could vote first without seeing what everyone else voted for. It's not a popularity contest (I know) but I think that some of us might be influenced by how others are voting. Maybe there's a way to not see the vote results until after we have voted? Not sure if it's possible but it might be a fairer way to do it.
