(24,656 posts)His political problems are different from his financial problems. This is long stated financial law that has aggrieved parties. If he's spent the last 10 years overinflating property values while minimizing same for tax purposes....tis isn't political....it's reality/
nd guess what? There won't be any sudden infusion of capital to fix the problems. Putin and friends can't help him because the feds are watching his financial transactions.

(17,989 posts)Folks that few out and out despise sometimes get a pass. A wide and varied network of connections help. Problem with Donnie Blotus is he has precious few friends now that he's out of power and the friends he still has aren't terribly reliable or bright. Factions of the immediate family are liable to turn on each other to save their own skins. Time will tell.

(36,533 posts)Declining share of Americans see Trump as primarily responsible for Jan. 6
BY REBECCA BEITSCH - 02/08/22
https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/593349-declining-share-of-americans-see-trump-as-bearing-a-lot-of
snip...
A declining number of Americans say former President Trump bears primary responsibility for the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to new data from the Pew Research Center, a trend accompanied by a growing number who say he was not at all to blame for the riot.
The number of Republicans who say Trump bears no responsibility at all for the attack grew from 46 percent to 57 percent over the last year, while the share of Democrats who see Trump as having "a lot" of responsibility for the attack dropped from 81 percent to 70 percent.
The survey also found the public largely divided over how much attention should be paid to the Jan. 6 attack and its impacts, with roughly a third of those surveyed responding that too much, too little and the right amount of attention has been given to reviewing the day.
The poll was conducted between Jan. 10 and Jan. 17 among 5,128 U.S. adults. It has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
This trend will continue as long as it looks like our side is doing nothing.

(10,096 posts)as a former president. He was obviously a criminal before he became president and continued to be a criminal throughout his presidency. Now that he is a private citizen, its time for him to be treated like any other citizen and held accountable for all his past crimes. I live in hope that I will eventually see him in jail. Trump likes to be number 1 in everythinghe can be the first ex-president ever sentenced to prison. Oh what a lovely thought!

I look for Letitia to convict him first in the civil trial, then the new Manhattan DA can do the criminal part. I remember, like a year ago when Cy Vance hired a financial whiz named, Pomerantz? (sp) The states are going to nail Trump, are going to make going near him toxic. Please proceed.

(7,923 posts)Trump in debtors prison? Who'd have imagined that back in the 80's?
Worse for him is that he won't be able to hang out in Mar-A-Lago or the many other clubs since they appear to be mortgaged to the hilt and beyond. No one will represent him on any basis since they won't be paid. With no assets which can be used to secure bail he may be bound over in jail. Can you see DJT waiting in a single cell at Rikers? If it happened to Cosby it can happen to DJT.

(42,770 posts)Calling a loan doesn't always accomplish the best outcome. The key is to what level/degree the bank is collateralized. Against overall trump debt with that institution. Suspect they will do independent appraisals on current collateral worries they are under collateralized. obviously DB must have unique circumstances we don't even know about.

(8,013 posts)Arthur Anderson was supposed to have audited Enron's books. Mazars clearly stated that they did not audit and they were given the figures (probably by Wieselberg). Many companies avoid audits if not required by their banks. The banks left holding the cards have only themselves and trump/wieselberg to blame for not insisting on audits.

(21,430 posts)to get the lease.
Joyce Vance just said not to dismiss the seriousness of the civil suit. Letitia can do a lot of damage to trump's business empire.
Joyce also said the best way to nail Trump in financial fraud is through the IRS, his taxes. When you lie on your tax return you don't have to worry about proving criminal intent.
Time for Trump to start another GoFundMe scam. No wonder Melania is having auctions.
Anyone here at DU want to donate to MF45? Bwahahaha.
