Barbara Walters to Donald Trump: "You're making a fool of yourself."

In response to Trump's challenge/offer of $5 milliion for Obama's college applications and transcripts. This is from the Thurs. 10/25 show.

"You and I have known each other for many years — and you know that I am your friend, and I think you are a brilliant businessman, and you are great on television, and you have a fascinating personality. Donald, you’re making a fool of yourself. You’re not hurting Obama. You’re hurting Donald, and that hurts me because you’re a decent man. Stop it. Get off it, Donald."

When she says "Stop it!", she sounds like Ann Romney.

She was way too nice and complimentary... Barbara is too nice sometimes, but she made her point. The co-hosts and audience liked it though.

What I don't understand is his motivation other than press coverage on this election cycle. He rightfully supported Obama in '08, and now he is pulling silly birther style stunts. I don't get it other he just wants his name in the news.
