I think the Olympics should have a minimum age requirement, somewhere around 27 years.

That would encourage coaches and younger athletes to avoid the really shitty sorts of "training" that damage young bodies and minds.

And every Olympic event should have completely fluid categories such as: amateur/pro, male/female/transgender, large/medium/small by height, large/medium/small by weight, tested drug free / not drug free (with sub categories for cannabis, steroids, amphetamines, opiates, unknown chemicals, etc...), patriotic / not patriotic, religious / not religious, and so on. Every medal would come with an asterisk.

I'd watch an Olympics like that.

The last Olympics I paid much attention to my sister was an alternate alternate on one of the teams, as in not going to happen without a horrible plane crash or something. She was an Olympic volunteer as well. She got free tickets. That was back in the 20th century. As I recall ABC television had the U.S.A. broadcasting rights that year.

My sister is still a naturally born sports warrior, a half century plus older sports warrior. My wife was a university athlete as well, but her sport was not an Olympic event then.
