Mixed results for Republican rallies as "Freedom Convoy" falls short

Following rumors of a grassroots "Freedom Convoy" traveling across Jefferson City, and possibly even blocking traffic around the Capitol Complex, campaigning for Republican-dominated congressional maps, few protestors appeared to join the caravan.

Several curious Missourians, including reporters, awaited the alleged convoy Tuesday morning and into the afternoon, though the only protestors with the convoy appeared to be a few pickup trucks and cars marked with flags and political slogans.

The protestors were reportedly inspired by the similar trucking convoys in Canada this month protesting against COVID-19 vaccination policies.
