A bit of a letter from the NYAG to the court about Donalds self-owning statement about his financial disclosures. This is just 🤣

The letter is well worth the read

Trump has said he does it and have been doing it for many years.

(19,201 posts)Trump doesn't seem to understand that concept.
As far as the "brand" he keeps crowing about, the Trump "brand" is toxic right now, and probably will be forever. At one time he valued his name (the "brand" ) at $3 billion.

Panama for one. Maybe Chicago?
His brand is and always has been garbage. I'll put a value on that!

There has been a significant increase in the sales of rock chisels and three-pound sledgehammers in cities that have licensed properties.

He starts a lot of holes.......

(6,832 posts)lay it all in the lap of attorneys who he expects to get him off, as usual. Its been his MO since day one. So far the current legal entertainment follows the same path.

(19,201 posts)In his NYC "real estate developer" days his army of attorneys could handle the load. He's in much different trouble now, and his real estate attorneys are worthless. He has problems getting good representation for his more serious crimes because of the way he's treated real estate attorneys in the past.
In short, he can't attract the best and brightest to represent him now. Few want the Trump "taint" adhering like a skunk's scent to their CV now. Look at the gang of losers who represented him in his election recount fiasco.
Donnie is in more trouble now than he's ever been in his life, and he knows it. His usual stall tactics are almost depleted, and I don't think the Supreme Court wants his "taint" on them, either. They'll do the right-wing's bidding over Roe v. Wade etc., but when it comes to Trump himself, he's going to find out what one-way loyalty feels like for once, only he's going to be on the receiving end this time. Big change.

(49,002 posts)tRump (orangeman, junior, and princhesska) say they are unable to form a belief as to who is running their own companies.
The evasiveness is called out because they didn't sign their official responses and only the attorneys did. Further, they haven't directly addressed the questions.

(50,407 posts)Cha, there was a grocery chain in the midwest USA called the "Red Owl" that I remember from my youth (it was in business from the 1950's through the 1980's) -- my avatar is the logo from that store and I just changed it to blue to reflect my Democratic values! I don't think Red Owl ever expanded all the way to Hawaii...

I was born and raised in Denver Colorado, but I don't remember any Red Owl grocery stores. We had King Soopers and Safeway..
I'm impressed you could change the color to Blue!

"It is not unusual for parties to a legal proceeding to disagree about the facts," the attorney general's office wrote in a letter filed in New York state court. "But it is truly rare for a party to publicly disagree with statements submitted by his own attorneys in a signed pleading -- let alone one day after the pleading was filed."
Attorney General Letitia James is conducting a probe into whether the Trumps inflated real estate values to obtain bank loans, and reduced values to lower tax bills.
Trump's attorneys repeatedly stated that he did not know enough to respond to allegations of inaccurate valuations. But the former president's five-page statement got into detail about possible discrepancies, implying that he had more knowledge than his lawyers said.
TFG's letter was not approved by TFG's and the Trump Organization's counsel. This letter contradicts the positions being taken by these attorneys in the hearing that is supposed to occur on Thursday

I think it goes without saying that there are a few companies that need their finances frozen right now so they can be assessed for accuracy. A court order should do the job and make sure that everything proceeds honestly.
