What Could Go Wrong? Mike Lindell Now Planning to Drop Pillows With "Little Parachutes" Over Canada

After his initial shipment of MyPillow products was denied entry into Canada, Mike Lindell told the Daily Beast about a backup plan to get free pillows to Canadian truckers: drop them from the sky via a helicopter.

Lindell said the pillows will have “little parachutes,” while adding “make sure you put that part in, or it could be dangerous.”

I wonder how much it would cost to dump them in a legal facility, in a legal manner.

I hope Canada sends him a big fat bill for littering.

§ 91.15 Dropping objects.

No pilot in command of a civil aircraft may allow any object to be dropped from that aircraft in flight that creates a hazard to persons or property. However, this section does not prohibit the dropping of any object if reasonable precautions are taken to avoid injury or damage to persons or property.

since it’s hard to control where the items will land. You can get away with paper leaflets but large objects, even Mike’s leaden pillows, are going to be a hazard unless he drops them in the wilderness. Dropping pillows onto a highway, which seems to be the plan, would be an obvious hazard to traffic.

In the US you have to apply for and receive a waiver before a planned operation like this.

I've been looking for analogous Canadian aviation regulations, but I don't know how to use their system very well.
More later.

dropped from a helicopter onto a busy highway?

Not that it's going to happen, since I would expect said helicopter to be promptly escorted out of Canadian airspace before it has the chance to create a hazard to persons or property on the surface by dropping said pillows...

What are the penalties for entering Canadian Airspace and illegally dropping items from the sky. I think just illegally entering Canadian Airspace without permission would carry some kind of penalty.
