As the President has repeatedly made clear, we are committed to pursuing diplomacy until the moment an invasion begins. Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Lavrov are scheduled to meet later this week in Europe, provided Russia does not proceed with military action. President Biden accepted in principle a meeting with President Putin following that engagement, again, if an invasion hasn’t happened. We are always ready for diplomacy. We are also ready to impose swift and severe consequences should Russia instead choose war. And currently, Russia appears to be continuing preparations for a full-scale assault on Ukraine very soon.

that he did everything he could to prevent an invasion. If an invasion happens, it's 100% Putin's decision. We did nothing to provoke him, and everything to deter him.

8. I think not alienating putin right now is a good move but dealing with a murdering fascist

with no regard for life will never end well, mainly treat russia like another north korea.

10. saying it again. I think Biden has dealt with this situation deftly,

consistently - and with hardly a misstep. Psaki's statement - more proof of exactly that.

Sure we're willing to talk - but the greater reality is that Russia is still menacing it's neighbor, and has shown no signs of turning away from that conflict.
