I do. Which way will Trump comment? Support Putin and confirm treason or support the USA and blow up his base?

In any case, whatever he says will be a lie, and his base will support whatever he says. Therefore, I ignore him as much as possible.

That's going to be a very impressive linguistical case that Fox News will have to make. Hunter caused Russia's invasion to help his dad? Will that be the official position? Then Donald will be claiming this next week on his website.

The plan was all along was likely to keep Trump in office, use Hunter as the "proof" of Ukrainian corruption and then Russia move in, with Trump's support, to clean up the corruption. Putin thinks long term, and Trump's thought processes, such as they are, end within seconds of starting.

The ones who will result in havoc being created in this country. Can you imagine the shit-storm when Trump is investigated for treason by a Biden Justice Department.

The others, the more 'reliable', Putin will continue to hold in his back pocket (although I would not consider Rand Paul reliable, but that's just me).

He's also the king of flim-flam. He'll figure out a way to pull off a huge grift during the Ukraine affair.

However he reacts, it'll be there. And on Fox, of course.

My guess is tfg'll posture presidential starting out following the standard formula for Russia's apologists/supporters in democracies:

Make the obligatory statement calling for peace and negotation and against invasion. Criticize Biden and other western democracies for forcing Russia to invade by not negotiating a reasonable solution.

Most revealing to me, as is understandably normal for American apologists for Russia's "security concerns," tRump will not point out that this is an authoritarian police-state oligarchy/socialist communist state that intends to destroy a liberal western democracy BECAUSE it's a democracy whose people chose to go their own way.

(Btw, "summit"? Who knows? Maybe a "reasonable" solution that saves (most of) Ukraine while not barring it from ever joining NATO may still be reached.)
